Yao and Lordi , by using MD simulation, predicted the tensile stiffness of SWNTs at 1.0 TPa that increased with the decreasing nanotube diameter. Ozaki et al.  predicted that the stiffness of SWNTs was sensitive only to the nanotube helicity instead of the diameter. In contrast, Liu  found that the nanotube stiffness was independent of both the helicity and the diameter.
